As (Senior) Transport Manager, you and your team determine priorities and ensure that questions are dealt with quickly and correctly. You are in constant dialogue with customers about their transport needs, regular transports, rush orders and specific transport issues and you look for the best solutions within our network and otherwise outside it. You are also actively involved in optimising processes and coaching your team.
Periodically, you create rate sheets for shippers and our carriers based on our customers’ cargo flows and ensure that these are prepared for recording in our Transport Management System (TMS). You are leading in this. You also ensure that, for example, diesel oil surcharges are determined, communicated to carriers and shippers and recorded. Searching for efficiency and immersing yourself in the customer’s cargo flows and the partners’ specialities is what it’s all about.
