IDS as European Network Solution

A worldwide leader in the resins chemical industry, with manufacturing facilities in countries including the Netherlands, Germany and Spain, needed to optimise the overall transport costs and reduce the number of carriers while improving compliance with demanding safety standards for ADR/Keep From Freezing (KFF) shipments across Europe.

The Challenge
With complex lines of communications and no transparent overview on its shipments, carriers and price structures, the customer needed a single solution to improve and to simplify its supply chain.

The Solution: IDS as European Network Solution
IDS was appointed as the single point of contact for four sites in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. The country/product specialist carriers in the IDS network were selected for the ADR and ADR/KFF shipments from these sites. This resulted in transparent price structures, savings achieved through consolidation and intercompany line haul costs, a single web portal for performance measurements and periodic management information reports, and achievement of high safety standards for these sites.
